The National Standardization Agency for Indonesia (BSN) together with
45 other central government institutionsaccepted for award from the
Indonesian government for its achievement in obtaining unqualified
predicate (WTP) for preparation of the Central Government Financial
Statements (LKPP) for Year 2009.

The National Standardization Agency for Indonesia (BSN) became the host
for the implementation of the Principal Secretary Forum of the LPNK
Research and Technology on Friday (23/07/2010). The meeting was opened
by the Head of BSN, Dr. Bambang Setiadi. On the occasion, Dr. Bambang
Setiadi conveyed about the role of BSN in various international forums
such as ISO DEVCO, Codex, and ISO TC 207.

Series of the 11th Meeting of ASEAN Consultative Committee on Standard
and Quality-Prepared Foodstuff Product Working Group (ACCSQ-PFPWG) held
on last 15 - 16 July, 2010 at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City, Manila,
Philippines. The meeting was attended by delegations from eight Member
States, they were: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR,
Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Philippines. In this session, the
delegations from Myanmar and Vietnam were absent.

Indonesia has sent eight of its delegations to the 2010 Academic Week
forum in Geneva (5-9 July, 2010), the forum which is the arena of
discussion, dialogue and sharing of experiences in the field of
standardization of education brings for great knowledge, experience,
and this heightened awareness of the important that education is
important and need for standardization and demands.
Therefore, BSN
felt the need to disseminate the experience of delegation at the forum
to the world of academics in Indonesia, especially universities that
have established cooperation with BSN. The first time (22/07), at the
University of North Sumatra, BSN was represented by Deputy Information
and Correctional Standardization, Dewi Odjar who is also chairman of
the delegation at the referred forum, held meetings and discussions
with the USU professors who teach subject with content of standards /
standardization.

Commission VII of the House of Representatives urged the government
immediately withdraw the 3 kg LPG tube and other accessories equipments
that are uncomply with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). It
became one of the conclusions under the Hearing Meeting of the House of
Representatives of Commission VII on Thursday (22/07/2010) located at
Building I of the Indonesian Legislative DPR RI Nusantara, Jakarta.

Explanation of those reasons had presented by Drs. Tisyo Haryono, MLS,
as head of the Center for Education and Socialization in the event of
Standardization-BSN Education Standardization debriefing Lecturer at
the universitas Nasional (UNAS) (on Wednesday, July 21, 2010).
Cooperation between BSN with the universities shall need to be carried
out in order to improve the process of consensus in the formulation of
standards, enhance the role of academic experts on standards
development, and raise the role of university laboratories.

The routine Seminar on Abroad Official Travelling (SPDLN) once again
held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Room A of the National
Standardization Agency for Indonesia (BSN). As usual this activity is
driven by Research and Development Center of Standardization
(Research). The seminar was moderated by the Head of Operational and
Governance Research Program, Bendjamin BL presented four topics they
were the 3rd Session of the Task Force on Antimicrobial Resistance
(TFAMR), the 26th Session of the Codex Committee on General Principles
(CCGO), Invitation to the 4th Network for Consumer (Aspect)
Participation in Standardization Workshop, and The 25th APLAC MRA
Council Meeting.

Infrastructures (road, bridge) hold
significant role in increasing of economics and wealth, moreover in an
archipelago country such as Indonesia thus government has been including
the
acceleration for development of infrastructures within the 11 national
development priorities under the 2010-2014 RPJMN (through the
Presidential
Instruction No. 1 of Year 2010). In the development of infrastructures
should
be considered for many things, and standard will be the main concern. In
the
ground of that, SNI for construction included under the big 5 in numbers
of SNI
which are 629 and becoming the 91-01 Technical Committee Secretariat.
